Air-conditioning and other refrigeration equipment can bring health and comfort to human beings, but at the same time, it will also make the earth "high fever" non-stop. On the one hand, HCFCs hydrochlorofluorocarbons and most HFCs hydrofluorocarbons have strong greenhouse effect. On the other hand, refrigeration equipment will consume a large amount of electricity in the use process, indirectly generating a large number of greenhouse gas emissions. It is estimated that the energy efficiency level of refrigeration products and equipment will be greatly improved and the green transformation of refrigerants will be realized. By the end of this century, the temperature rise of 0.5-1 C will be avoided.
The green development and energy efficiency improvement of refrigeration industry will also help countries achieve energy efficiency goals and achieve sustainable development goals in related fields. To this end, the National Development and Reform Commission of China, together with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and the Energy Foundation, has launched initiatives.
The initiative aims to promote the sustainable improvement of energy efficiency and green development of the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry by building a platform for policy dialogue and information exchange, developing capacity-building, strengthening the exchange and cooperation of energy efficiency policies and standards, supporting the innovation of green refrigeration business model, and promoting technological exchanges and cooperation, so as to contribute to the realization of international and national energy efficiency goals in response to climate change. The main elements of the initiative include:
1) To build a platform for policy dialogue and information exchange, to share relevant information and latest progress in the green field in a timely manner, and to strengthen coordination with international cooperation mechanisms related to refrigeration energy efficiency, such as the G20 Energy Efficiency Leadership Plan (EELP), SE4ALL, CEM and KCEP.
2) Develop capacity-building, strengthen exchanges and cooperation of energy efficiency policies and standards, establish effective green refrigeration policies and mechanisms, and continuously improve the energy efficiency level of refrigeration products.
Support the innovation of green refrigeration business model, enhance public awareness, advocate green consumption, and promote the market transformation of refrigeration products in Colleges and universities.
3) Actively seek and promote technological exchanges and cooperation, and jointly promote the innovation and research and development of green refrigeration technology.
4) The aim is to promote the sustainable improvement of energy efficiency and green development of refrigeration and air-conditioning industry by building policy dialogue and information exchange platform, developing capacity-building, strengthening the exchange and cooperation of energy efficiency policies and standards, supporting the innovation of green refrigeration business model, and promoting technology exchange and cooperation, so as to contribute to the realization of International and national energy efficiency goals in response to climate change.
"As the largest air conditioning manufacturing and consumption country in the world, the successful implementation of China's policies and regulations will not only have a great impact on China itself, but also on the transformation of the global market to a more efficient climate-friendly refrigeration equipment." One of the initiators of the initiative, Zou Ji, President of China Energy Foundation, said: "we hope that the" one belt and one way "green and efficient refrigeration initiative will further enhance cooperation between China and the" along the way "countries, and promote the green development of the refrigeration industry. The Energy Foundation will strongly support the initiative in terms of coordination of relevant international cooperation mechanisms, capacity-building, and promotion of technological exchanges and cooperation.
